Queen's University Belfast

University Colleges and Facilities
(Belfast, Northern Ireland)

Queen's University runs two colleges where students can stay during their first and second years of study. St Mary's College is a Catholic Church administered teachers' training college and Stranmillis is a second teacher training facility without specific accommodation on site.

St. Mary's College

Established in 1900, St Mary's University College is an important academic arm that provides students with academic support and residences. It presently has less than 600 students under its roof. It is a Catholic institution but also accepts applicants of all faiths. It trains teachers of both Catholic and non-Catholic schools.

Stranmillis College

Stranmillis College has been training teachers since 1922 but has since diversified. It now accepts students with different interests. The college is just 20 minutes away on foot from the city centre.
